To the
Devetters - Doug, you did such a beautiful presentation of Gale's life
on this website. May God Bless each member of the family and know that
she "Hearts you" every day!!! Gale was a special part of my time on
State PTA and I truly appreciated all her talents and humor. Love and
Prayers, Rosaline
This slideshow was
wonderful! Thank you for putting this together. Gale's "journey" and the people
she touched was amazing. I will miss her yearly update at Christmas, it will
seem like something important is missing. I'm thinking it's hard for her family
to fill the hours normally spent with her, such an empty feeling. I send my
thoughts and prayers for you all. This sad news really took me by surprise.
I have always been very fortunate throughout
my life to have been surrounded by the geniuses, the gifted, the movers and
shakers, and the people who make this ride called 'life' the enjoyable
experience it has been. I guess God has been good to me by giving me such people
to lean on, no matter which way I leaned. Gail certainly was one of these
people, especially in the voice department. I sang with her at choir and tried
to keep up with her and the other talented folks in the Hayward Chorus. Gail and
the others certainly made me sound better.
But more than her talent was
the welcome smile she always seemed to flash for everyone. Her smile is the
meteorological equivalent of a bright, sunny day. That smile always seemed to
say "Hi, I'm Gail, and you count!" She was always a source of validity and
friendship, and everyone knew it.
Helen and I will see you later Gail,
God permitting, of course.
I am fortunate to have known the DeVetter
family for over 30 years now.
During my high school days and friendship
with Sharon, the DeVetter house was always the place for kids to congregate. All
of us 'girls' would hang out, have sleep overs and drink Tab. As Steven and Doug
got older, their friends were constantly at the house as well. The reason the
'kids' hung out at the DeVetter's is because of Mrs. DeVetter. She welcomed
everyone in to her home. There was always room for one more at her crowded
dinner table. She was a second Mom to everyone.
As I got older, I began
to appreciate her as a woman and not just another Mom. She worked tirelessly at
so many charities, the PTA being the one that stands out. She didn't just
volunteer, she took a leadership role and she committed herself to a worthy
cause! She was never too tired to help and was an eager helper for wedding
showers, wedding decorations and any other event.
Mrs. DeVetter, you will
be missed greatly. I am proud to have known you and your entire family.
Having grown up with Gale,
I miss her dearly, as so many do. She was truly a remarkable and beautiful
woman. I enjoyed every time we were together, talked on the phone, or shared
e-mails. I send condolences to everyone who shared her life, and she will be my
"forever friend"

Gale was truly a special person and a
wonderful friend who will be missed by those whose lives she touched. We grew up
together and treasured our years in Ceres through Elementary as well as Ceres
High School. We have continued to come together with our "School Girl" luncheons
and we were especially delighted with the one held this past October. Gordon
chaufered Gale and her delicious homemade desert - we were so happy that she was
able to share the day with us. I will miss her Sweet Smile, Positive Personality
and Warm Heart.
Her family was truly Blessed to have had Gale in their lives
as wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and I know that the many wonderful
memories will certainly be of comfort in the days and months to come.
God
Bless All of You and May She Rest In Peace.
My Continued Prayers will be
With All of You.
Gale I have wanted to
write to you so many times since you left us. You were always there with a
supportive word or a laugh. I always felt I was still part of the family. Your
love for others did show so bright. I miss you Gale. Love Sherrill

So sorry to hear about
your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
God is the only one who
knows the hairs on our head, each one, so it is God only who knew His plan for
Gale! She taught many people how to be like Jesus by her never ending enthusiasm
and complete and honest devotion to helping others..this allowed her to love and
be the words "family and friend" to so many people..she touched a tremendous
amount of hearts over the years..gale is hard at work for the Lord as we speak
and singing joyfully, her eyes sparkling and KNOWING she will see all of us
again..Gordon, may the Lord bless you and keep you..lean into the Lord for
comfort and rest. losing parents is a really hurtful event, but Gale knew her
children would travel through the grief with
comfort from her..God is
near..

Gale was an absolutely
unbelievable person. She was an adoring wife, mother and grandmother. Her
marvelous ready smile and great sense of humor were a joy to all who knew her. I
had the pleasure of growing up with her in our town of Ceres. She is going to be
greatly missed by all of her friends.
I send my best to her family who
were blessed to have such a beautiful woman in their lives. May her memory live
on with you and help bring you inner peace.

Butscher,
I am so sorry to hear
about the loss of your Mother, Grandmother, wife and wonderful friend! Gale’s
high energy, big smile and enthusiasm for life was contagious and a joy to be
around. May her best memories bring you comfort and joy as you celebrate her
life. My thoughts and prayers are with the family as you journey through this
life’s chapter.
She will be missed, but never forgotten.
?Through Marriage Gale
became part of our family. We always enjoyed her company when we shared a family
gathering or went to special events. We especially loved the invitations to
Gale’s singing group. All the amazing cards she sent that always seamed to suit
our life and personality.
I always wish I could have had that get up and
go like Gale without hesitation.
Bless you Gale, you will always be
missed knowing you are not here.
My memories of Gale go
back to the late 70's when I and my late wife,( I have since remarried )
transfered to Gordons squadron to relieve him. Gale was always active in
squadron family affairs, childrens parties, Navy Wives Club and the community.
After retirement we moved within three blocks of them beknown to us. We somehow
connected and over the years we spent quality time together.Gale was very
special and will be missed by all that knew her. Our prayers and thoughts go to
you, Gordon, and your family for your loss.
My husband and I were
neighbors of the DeVetters for several years. WE were friends foreverafter. I
always admired Gale as a friend, neighbor wife, nurse, and her community service.
With her encouragment in the late 60's I went to Nursing School myself. She was
so very special, words cannot express how highly I thought of her. Jean Hawkins
Our thoughts & prayers
are with you at this time of the loss of Gale. We talked many times when I
phoned about the Loaves & Fishes Ministry we both served on. She certainly
will be missed by all who knew her.
The past several Christmas holidays I spent
with the DeVetters at their home. Gale graciuosly shared here lovely family. She
always had the BEST decorating I have ever seen! No surface or wall or room was
left undecorated! I will misss you Gale and will always keep your warmth with
me! Love, Pat Phillips
